Stephani Rougeau - Head Varsity Coach

Coach Stephani Rougeau is originally from Eunice, Louisiana.  She graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Performance. She was a second baseman for the McNeese Cowgirl Softball team and was named Outstanding Offensive Player in 1988-1989 and All Conference Player in 1989-1990. Coach Rougeau brings 23 years of coaching experience to Oak Ridge.  She has been with Oak Ridge for the past nine years where she has coached seven years of softball, five years of volleyball, and two years of track. She has been a Head Softball Coach at Eunice High School, North Shore, Galena Park, and Klein Forest.  She has mostly recently been the First Assistant Coach at Oak Ridge.  During each of her prior positions, she has enjoyed seeing her players achieve great success, including reaching the State Tournament as a finalist while at North Shore, with a record of 37-4 in 1998 and another State appearance in 2018 as State Semi-Finalist. 

 

When Coach Rougeau is not coaching and teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family.  She has much family support around her coaching career and her 101 year old Grandmother still prays for her team’s success before and during each game.  Her outside hobbies and interests include, biking, swimming, weight lifting, cooking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her dogs.

In April 2023 Coach Rougeau hit at career milestone with her 400th win at Oak Ridge High School!

Tara Megilligan - Assistant Varsity Coach

Coach Tara Megilligan is joining our staff with 22 years of experience.  After graduating from McNeese State University in 1995, Coach Megilligan started her career at North Shore High School as an assistant with Stephani Rougeau, where they made it to the state tournament in 1998.  After serving 5 years at North Shore, Coach Megilligan moved to Channelview High School where she has taught and coached for the past 17 years.  

Originally from Colorado, Coach Megilligan loves to travel back to see her family and is a huge Denver Broncos fan.

Sarah Stowell – Junior Varsity Coach & Assistant to Varsity

Coach Sarah Stowell is joining our staff with 16 years of coaching experience.  A Louisiana native, she competed in softball as a second baseman and catcher on the Junior College and Division I level graduating from Northwestern State University in 2004.  After college, Coach Stowell started her career teaching and coaching at Klein Forest High School as a softball assistant with Stephani Rougeau.  Coach Stowell also has 10 years of experience as a Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track & Field Coach.  During her time at Klein Forest, she has enjoyed experiencing the many successes of athletes over the years – Softball Playoffs Qualifier 1st in school history, Regional Qualifiers in Cross Country, District Champions, Regional, and State Qualifiers in Girls Track & Field. 

 

Coach Stowell loves spending time with family and friends out on the lake or beach in her spare time.  She also enjoys fishing and hunting with her dad and brothers as well as various forms of exercise such as kayaking, hiking, mountain biking and running.  In the fall and winter, you can catch her cooking up a  good pot of gumbo, sharing it with family/friends and watching her favorite football team LSU!  Geaux Tigahs!
